West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) regularly conducts recruitment drives for multiple posts under West Bengal Police and Kolkata Police. 


๐Ÿ“Œ CURRENT/ONGOING RECRUITMENT DRIVES

1️⃣ Constable & Lady Constable – WBP (2024/25–26)

  • Total Vacancies: Around 11,749+ posts for Constables and Lady Constables.

  • Written Exam: Held on 30 November 2025.

  • Physical Tests (PMT + PET): Admit cards released in January 2026, tests started from 08 January 2026 (tentative).

  • Candidates who pass the written exam are eligible for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)


2️⃣ Sub-Inspector (SI) – West Bengal Police (WBP) – 2024

  • Recruitment to Sub-Inspector (Unarmed & Armed branches) in West Bengal Police.

  • Total Vacancies: Around 1,131+ across categories.

  • Preliminary Exam: Held on 12 October 2025.

  • Eligible candidates appeared for the exam as per notification. 


3️⃣ SI / LSI & Sergeant – Kolkata Police (2023/24)

  • Recruitment for Sub-Inspector / Lady Sub-Inspectress & Sergeant in Kolkata Police also ongoing with exams conducted in 2025.

๐Ÿง  Educational Qualification

  • Constable / Lady Constable:

    • Passed Madhyamik (Class X) or equivalent education.

    • Language proficiency in Bengali (some exceptions apply for hill areas). 

  • Sub-Inspector (SI):

    • Typically Graduate from a recognized university (confirm with the specific notification). 

  • Scientific Officers / Assistants:

    • Relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in science/forensic fields. 


๐ŸŽ‚ Age Limit (Typical – Constable)

  • Minimum: 18 years

  • Maximum: 30 years (general)

  • Age Relaxation:

    • SC/ST – +5 years

    • OBC (A/B) – +3 years

    • Third Gender – +3 years

    • Civic Volunteers / Home Guards – age relaxations as applicable
